Hope

By Alisha Nurse

In that despair burrowed into your soul

I plant a seed of hope.

Please, let it grow.

Water it with expectation, a little knowing and faith, that magnificent mammoths can grow from saplings,

even if you didn’t plant it yourself;

Even if planted in a dessert of impossibilities.

That is the peculiar nature of hope.

It is belief surpassing logic. Waiting on dreams manifest. Acting in anticipation.

To see something beautiful, birthed from the tiniest seed.
